President / CEO

Tony L. Pfaff is the founder of Cypress Healthcare, LLC. Founded in 2000, Cypress is a hospital management and consulting company focusing on Critical Access and Frontier hospitals. As part of his Cypress duties, he also serves as the President of Deer Lodge Medical Center. Cypress has multiple management and consulting contracts with other rural hospitals throughout Montana and surrounding states.

 

Mr. Pfaff has over 25 years’ worth of experience as a healthcare executive, both in urban and rural settings.

Mr. Pfaff was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Up and Comer’s in 2000. He is also the Founder/owner and creator of TC Aviation, a Fixed Based Operator located at the Deer Lodge City/County Airport. The FBO literally started with nothing and quickly moved to one of the busiest

small airports in Montana.

 

Mr. Pfaff holds a Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Idaho State University. Mr. Pfaff sits on several

boards including the Deer Lodge City/County Airport, Yellowstone Insurance, Montana Hospital Association, and Pioneer Federal Savings & Loan.

 

Mr. Pfaff is CE510 Jet typed, instrument-rate pilot with over 3,000 flight hours. Outside of work, Mr. Pfaff enjoys spending time with his wife, Cathy, their 2 dogs, and Larry the cat, fly fishing, golf, and is an avid aviation enthusiast.

CEO - Big Sandy

Ron Wiens

Born and raised in Michigan yet drawn west to Montana over 35 years ago.  Ron and his wife Kim enjoy camping in the summer and hanging out with their two adult children and granddaughter as often as they can.  Wintertime is Ron’s reading season and Kim’s quilting time.  Ron has been working in hospital settings for over 30 years with most of it being in rural communities.  He loves the can-do attitude of small town residents and enjoys working with them to solve the challenges of operating a rural hospital.

Jim Gillhouse

Born in Missoula and raised in Ronan, Gillhouse received his bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.  He earned his MBA at University of Montana in 2001, and spent most of his healthcare management career in Missoula. Gillhouse joined Ruby Valley Medical Center in 2024.  His wife, Gabrielle, is a retired educator. They have a son in college studying Civil Engineering and another son finishing high school.

CEO - Deer Lodge

Jaena Richards

Jaena Richards, Chief Executive Officer of Deer Lodge Medical Center, leads and supports a dedicated team across the clinic and hospital. With more than 34 years of healthcare experience, she previously served as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources Director, and later Chief Operations Officer before becoming CEO in 2024. A graduate of Eastern Montana College with a degree in Business Administration, Jaena has served on various healthcare boards and is active in community events throughout the Deer Lodge Valley. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends, golfing, taking walks, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

CEO - Leadville

Bubba Bartlett

Bubba Bartlett is the Chief Executive Officer of St. Vincent Health in Leadville, Colorado. Originally from Rathdrum, Idaho, he earned a public health degree from Carroll College and an MBA from the University of Saint Mary. With 14 years of experience in business development, sales, and innovative healthcare technologies—including 340B analysis, infectious disease testing, and supply-chain solutions—he traveled nationwide helping hospitals and clinics solve complex challenges. In 2024, an unexpected opportunity led him into hospital administration, where he became a critical access hospital CEO. Bubba says the best part of the role is “being part of something greater than myself.” He and his wife, Paige, are proud parents of Calvin and Delaney and enjoy life in the Colorado high country. Fun fact: he once signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans and was inducted into the Carroll College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Amy Dreesen

Amy Dreesen, RN, BSN, is a dedicated nursing professional with a diverse background spanning behavioral health, acute care, neurology, and care coordination. Born and raised in rural Minnesota and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University. Amy began her career in adolescent psychiatric care at the South Dakota State Hospital, later expanding her clinical experience through roles at a critical access hospital and pain clinic in South Dakota before transitioning to the Neurology Progressive Care Unit at Banner Health in Arizona.

Amy went on to serve as a Transitional Care Coordinator at Deer Lodge Medical Center for seven years, where she focused on improving patient outcomes, strengthening care continuity, and building and developing the hospital’s transitional care program. In 2024, she joined Cypress Healthcare, bringing her extensive clinical knowledge and commitment to patient-centered care to the team. Amy now resides in Absarokee, Montana, with her husband, Andrew, and their two children, River and Ivory. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, baking, spending time with friends and family, and taking scenic drives into the mountains.
